How much will it cost to build?

....is the most common question I get asked.

My job is to provide the relevant drawings for Planning applications and Building Regulations and I don't get involved with buying materials, so it's not something I can answer.

However it is important to have a rough idea of costs before going too far down your development road.

With costs changing day by day it difficult to keep track of, but a simple way would be to use the £/sq.meter method.

For 2022 it is estimated to be between £1,750 and £3,000 per sq.m subject to the final specification. For example, if you have gone for high spec finishes, kitchen and sanitary ware, aim for the higher end of the scale.

If you'd like a more detailed and reliable cost we would recommend contacting a Quantity Surveyor for an impartial quote. A builder could then agree to adopt the quote given taking away any ambiguity.
